California finishes second on Senior Day

Swimming recognizes group of six seniors, wins three events at Vulcan Invitational

 CALIFORNIA (Jan. 11) – The California (PA) swimming team recognized a group of six seniors and finished second at the Vulcan Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Hamer Hall.


STANDINGS
• The Vulcans placed second at the event with a score of 194 points.
• Frostburg State earned the team victory for a consecutive day with 269 points.
• Salem finished third in the standings with 73 points and Bethany (WV) totaled nine points to rank fourth.

STANDARDS
Below are the swimmers that reached PSAC-qualifying times on Saturday.
• Gabby Miller – 50 freestyle (24.47), 100 butterfly (1:00.37)
• Madison Moretti – 1650 freestyle (19:14.44)

VICTORIES
Below are the swimmers that claimed wins at Hamer Hall.
• Gabby Miller  - 50 freestyle (24.47)
• Madison Moretti – 200 freestyle (2:04.31)
• 400 freestyle relay | Moretti, Ashlyn HornickAntonia Gheorghita, Miller – 3:50.61

NEXT
• The Vulcans return to action when they travel to Edinboro, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 18 to compete in the PennWest Duals versus Clarion and the host Fighting Scots at 1 p.m.
