Pitt-Greensburg Women's Tennis Drops Road Match to Washington & Jefferson, 5–2

The Pitt-Greensburg women's tennis team showed early promise in doubles play but ultimately fell short in singles competition, dropping a 5–2 decision to Washington & Jefferson at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center.

The Bobcats (0–3) came out strong in doubles, securing victories at the top two spots to earn the doubles point. The duo of Gabi Moder and Nancy Jiang delivered a solid 6–4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Karen Rabe and Sophia Lepore edged out a tight 7–6 victory at No. 2. Despite a setback at No. 3 doubles, Pitt-Greensburg took a 1–0 lead heading into singles play.

In singles, Karen Rabe continued her impressive form, cruising to a straight-set win (6–3, 6–3) at No. 2 singles to give the Bobcats their second point of the match. However, Washington & Jefferson responded with dominant performances across the remaining courts.

At No. 1 singles, Gabi Moder battled but fell 5–7, 0–6 to Claire Loomis. Nancy Jiang pushed her match to a third-set super tiebreak at No. 3 but came up short against Keiran Moorhead (4–6, 6–3, 3–10). The Presidents sealed the match with straight-set wins at positions 4 through 6.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed flashes of potential, particularly in doubles and the strong outing from Rabe. Pitt-Greensburg will look to build on these positives as they prepare for their first AMCC conference match on Sunday at 1:30 PM, when they travel to face Penn State Behrend.
