Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team dropped a 100-84 decision to visiting Gannon Saturday afternoon inside McComb Fieldhouse.
The Scots held an 83-70 advantage with 6:42 to play in the game after a Cenker Evran tip-in. The Golden Knights closed the game on a 30-1 run including shooting 13-of-16 from the free throw line while the Scot offense went 0-of-9 from the field over the final six minutes.

The Golden Knights went on a 9-3 run to trim the lead to 59-53 with 16:57 on the clock. Kelly answered with another 3-pointer and Daunte Wilcott scored a layup to push the Scot lead back out to 64-53 with 16:22 remaining.
Edinboro's lead stayed at 11, 71-60 after a Ryan Ladjevich trey at the 11:55 mark. Gannon scored the next six points to trim the lead to 71-66 with 10:11 to play. A Bryce Baez layup and 3-pointers from Ladjevich and Evan Berger extended the Edinboro lead to 79-66 with 8:11 on the clock.
With the Scots holding a 7-6 lead at the 15:45 mark of the first half, Edinboro went on a 10-0 run with four points from Evran and three each from Kelly and Ladjevich to go up 17-6 at the 13:27 mark. Pace Prosser stopped the run with a pair of free throws, but the Scots scored the next six points on two Wilcott layups and a Baez bucket to grab a 23-8 advantage with 11:21 remaining in the first.
The Golden Knights trimmed the lead to 13, 31-18, after a Lucas Sekasi layup at the 6:52 mark. The Scots responded with a 13-6 run taking a 44-24 lead on a Michael Dunn 3-pointer with 4:29 on clock. Gannon responded with a 9-4 spurt of their own to trim the lead to 48-33 with 3:21 remaining in the first.
Edinboro grew its lead to the largest margin of the day, 54-33, on a Kelly triple with 1:29 left in the opening half. The Golden Knights closed the period on a 7-2 spurt to cut the halftime deficit to 56-40.
The Scots outrebounded the Golden Knights 42-29, but the Golden Knights finished the game 34-of-40 from the free throw line to including 22-of-27 in the second half. The Scots were 13-of-15 from the charity stripe but shot just two free throws in the second half.
Kelly paced the offense with 20 points to go with five assists and five rebounds. Baez finished with 15 points and six boards. Everan notched another double-double with 10 points and 19 rebounds while also dishing out three assists. Wilcott also reached double figures with10 points to go with four rebounds and two assists.
Ernest Shelton led the Golden Knights with 21 points, 15 coming at the free throw line. Posser and Sekasi each finished with 19.
The Scots are back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Bryant &Stratton College in non-conference play. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
